Occupational Therapist

Sheila is an Occupational Therapist from Milton, Ontario and has been actively working in the field of seating and mobility for over 20 years. Sheila is the owner of Therapy NOW! Inc., an Occupational Therapy Company providing consultation, assessment and treatment in the area of accessibility, ergonomics, and seating & mobility. Sheila has spoken extensively across Canada and the United States on topics of Seating and Mobility, Pressure Management with respect to positioning and Restraint Free Positioning. She also completes training seminars which provide basic seating and wheelchair/rollator mobility as well as transfer training for therapists, dealers and manufacturers. Sheila is an advocate for the promotion of healthy/active living for clients living with disabilities and strives to maximize her clients’ potential function in all facets of life via assistive technology.

In the clinical field, Sheila is an authorizer for the ADP Program in Ontario, and also provides professional proactive occupational therapy services to long term care facilities, community clients and community group home settings. In this role she provides comprehensive assessments and prescriptions for rollators, manual and power mobility and seating systems for clients with orthopedic, spinal cord and neurological injuries as well as the aging population and all related disabilities and diagnosis. Sheila has an extensive history of seating severely challenged individuals to maximize mobility, postural stability, pressure management, and overall quality of life.
